Walter - I guess it might work differently in the UK, but you should be able to find out if that is the case quite easily.

The person who sent you the parcel/s insured the parcel. I believe he is the one required to lodge the insurance claim with the post office in the UK. You didn't insure the parcel, he did. It's HIS "insurance" policy, not yours, against loss or damage and therefore would be the one to make the claim for the insurance. I'm sure one of the British MOPOers could clarify this aspect pretty quickly for you.

As for eBay feedback - there are plenty of 100% positive feedback sellers who are not 100% honest, just as there are many 100% honest sellers who do not have 100% positive feedback because they thought they were doing the right thing to neg a deadbeat buyer only to receive a retaliatory negative. It's a deeply flawed system, but then we all know that, don't we?

Good luck with this and let us know how it progresses.
Regards,
Phil

My first thought when reading his email is the phrase*, "I have sent many posters to the USA and had no problems before I have 100% positive feedback, because I go out of my way to send replacements."

*Is he saying that he has had many occasion to have to send replacements?............hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I sent this email to this seller:
The second shipment never arrived and I do not have the endless time to waste to fill out forms and wait a year or longer, especially since the Royal Post Office insured it, not the US Post Office.
I cannot remember a worse experience of buying on ebay.
Am I supposed to believe that you sent me two packages in a row and that both of them were lost in the mails?

He responded as follows:

Yes you are supposed to believe that. I have sent two posters and don't like being accused of not being true to my word. I have never been called a liar before and take serious offence to that.

I have sent many posters to the USA and had no problems before I have 100% positive feedback, because I go out of my way to send replacements. But I won't continue to send replacements to you as I have done nothing wrong, I have obtained proof of postage and insured the poster second time round and made sure I have kept the receipt safe, as I have so many this isn't always easy.

I also find it quite curious that every time I list another Chet Baker poster you email me saying you haven't received yours. Perhaps you have received the poster and are trying to get more posters out of me for free.

Now see how you like an accusation.

If the seller provided me with all the details of proof of postage I wouldn't doubt him, especially if he has 100% positive feedback. If he had questionable feedback I may be inclined to doubt him, but this is not the case here.

I will be happy to forward you the details, if you would like a faxed copy of the receipt I will be happy to fax you a copy.

But this is as far as our dealings will go, given your responses I'm afraid I will not be able to deal with you in the future.
