Hey Sean and all,
Yes, you are correct on the $8050, but I wasn’t sure if that included the buyers premium, etc. The copy that went for $4600 was listed as a 5.0 condition, which is considerably lesser condition than Ed's. As we all know, though, condition reporting is a very subjective item. From all appearances, Ed's looks to be in spectacular condition. Now, I know "spectacular" isn't the normal condition vernacular but I'm old school and that means mint or near mint to me!  I see your point also, but I guess it's always a matter of semantics.

Actually, Heritage had a copy in the November, 2004 auction (not quite two years ago) which sold for $4,600 (sale #607, lot # 19220) that is probably in condition similar to Ed’s.

The near mint copy from three years ago sold for $8,050 – well short of “almost $9,000”.

But your point is well-taken.  Yes, this poster is being offered at less than the absolute highest price this poster has reportedly sold for in the past.

I think the comment might have been more directed at the fact that the asking price is hardly in line with an item “I wish I could keep”, but that is not to say it isn’t attractive to someone and Ed has already stated that people are welcome to contact him privately.

Hey Gang,

I don't think Ed's price is so out there.  This poster sold for almost $9000 three years ago at a Heritage auction.  I can't remember what auction house it was, but I was on the phone bidding on one about 2 years ago and it went for over $12,000. Of course, both of those copies were in mint condition as Ed has stated his is. I'm sure he has negotiating room, but I don't think he is that out of line with the price. This is a valuable, hard to find poster.
