Y'all,

Well, the first near-hurricane tropical storm of the season, lil' ol'
Alberto, sauntered down out of the Yucatan a few days ago, paddled his
way across the Gulf of Mexico and is even now passing by Dinosaur Beach on
his way to sneak across the border into the US of A later this morning.
Long-time hurricane watchers knew that the big media fuss and Guv'nor Jeb
Bush issuing a silly mandatory evacuation order for the impact area of the
coastline was just COA shuck and jive. We could tell that Alberto wasn't
packing and would, in fact, only deliver some desperately-needed rainfall
to the most parched areas of Central and North Floridia and freshen up the
95-degree air that's been sitting on top of us for the past month. The
winds aren't strong enough to do any serious damage and even though the
storm surge will be arriving at high tide, there's nothing left right
along the water's edge for it to hurt (all the vulnerable stuff was taken
out by last year's much bigger storms).

Nope... Nothing but beneficial results from Alberto's passage for the
Banana Republic and Dinosaur Beach. We ought to get him a green card and
invite him to come back around this time every year.
