I want to make sure all MoPo members are aware of the 1,025 magic lantern glass slides & Australian daybills that I have on eBay closing, Tuesday (6/27). What is included in this weeks items?

First comes the last of the incredible collection of glass slides we have been auctioning over the past year (we are selling the final 319 of them this week)! If you are not familiar with this collection, read the following very carefully! Many collectors are not familiar with glass slides (sometimes called "magic lantern glass slides"), because they are incredibly rare, and are rarely offered for sale. Go to http://tinyurl.com/prfgu for a brief history of what they are and what they were used for. THE GLASS SLIDES WE ARE SELLING THIS WEEK COME FROM THE MOST REMARKABLE COLLECTION OF GLASS SLIDES EVER TO EXIST! They come from a single theater that saved EVERY glass slide they used, from the very late-1920s through the mid-1940s. There were over 2,300 in all! Included were a HUGE number of the most important movies of the 1930s, and 152 of the best of these were sold in our June 2004 auction, Vintage Hollywood Posters VII, for a total of $42,201.91, an average of over $275 per slide. Go to http://tinyurl.com/pv3sq to see an exact list of those 152 slides, and the prices they sold for. Now, we are selling the remainder of this amazing collection! In March 2005 we sold 275 glass slides, those beginning with the letters "A", "B", and "C". In May 2005, we sold 282 glass slides including movies that begin with the letters "D", "E", "F", "G", and "H". In June 2005, we sold 267 glass slides including movies that begin with the letters "H", "I", "J", "K", "L", and "M". In July 2005, we sold 266 slides, including movies that begin with the letters "M", "N", "O", "P", "Q", and "R". In September 2005 we sold 250 slides, including movies that begin with the letters "R", "S", and "T". This week, we are offering the last 319 slides from this amazing collection, including mostly movies that begin with the letters "T", "U", "V", "W", "Y", and "Z" (there are no "X" titles)! There will be no more offerings from this glass slide collection ever (unless some of these are re-sold by the buyers). THIS IS THE VERY LAST OF THIS REMARKABLE COLLECTION! In addition to selling those slides that begin with the final letters of the alphabet, we are also selling a group of slides that start with numbers (because those were accidentally taken out), and also a group that includes some really wonderful slides that begin with the letters "A" through "S" (these had been removed from the collection as an example of the some of the better slides, and we forgot to place them back in until now!). So in many ways, this final group is perhaps the best of all the groups we have sold (except for those in our major auction in 2004, of course)! THIS IS THE FINAL OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE ANY OF THE SLIDES FROM THIS INCREDIBLE COLLECTION! In addition to containing glass slides from movies on which next-to-no movie memorabilia is known to exist, this collection is also remarkable because so many of the slides are in really wonderful condition! They were carefully stored from when the theater closed, and while a few are in lesser condition (less than 10%), many of the slides look practically brand new! At the beginning of the glass slides we have a special set of eight 1931 Mickey Mouse English glass slides! These are from a cartoon called "Fishin' Around". They are slightly smaller than U.S. glass slides, but were obviously created for the same purpose. We have never seen any other early cartoon glass slides, so we don't know whether this was done for all cartoons of this era in England (or anywhere else), but these are really cool!

After the 319 glass slides, we have 706 Australian daybills (beginning with seven of the very rare pre-WWII "long" daybills that measure approximately 15" x 40"). There really are a lot of "better" titles included! You'll find daybills from Springtime in the Rockies, Touch of Evil, Abbott & Costello Meet the Invisible Man, The Outlaw, Pursuit to Algiers, Little Nellie Kelly, My Darling Clementine, How to Play Football (Disney's Goofy), The Lost Weekend, and many, many more! There are daybills from all years and genres, so there is something for just about every collector. Note that daybills resemble U.S. inserts in size, but they often have artwork where the U.S. inserts are usually photographic, and they often have artwork that does not appear on ANY U.S. posters! Some daybills are printed with stone lithography, and are often quite striking.

NOTE THAT I HAD AN UNUSUAL PROBLEM IN LISTING THE ITEMS THIS WEEK! eBay changed their listing tool, "Turbo Lister", and it works differently than it had previously. This means that I accidentally put some of the items in an order that is different from our regular number order. These items come at the end of the glass slides and at the beginning of the Australian daybills. On eBay, you will find that a bunch of those items (approximately 100 in all) are NOT listed on eBay in our number order. This will only have effect on you (or your bidding) if you intend to bid on those items at the last minute, but are NOT intending to use a snipe program. If that is the case with you, please look carefully at the closing times of those items and the order in which they close on eBay prior to Tuesday night, so the unusual closing times do not "catch you off guard". If you look at the items on eBay, they are not in our order, but if you look at them in our gallery on our website at http://www.emovieposter.com/gallery/currentauctions.php, you will find that they ARE in our number order (but they still close in an unusual order). If you bid on the items prior to the very end, or if you place your bids with a snipe program, none of the above will affect you at all.

EVERY BUYER THIS WEEK GETS A BONUS COPY OF MY $20 FULL-COLOR BOOK, MUSICAL MOVIE POSTERS! You get one example of this book as a bonus with ANY purchase this week, even if it is only a single 99 cent item! If you don't already own this book (or maybe even if you do!), you should surely find one or more items to buy this week, so you get this book, plus an item of YOUR choice!

EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE LOTS OF GREAT GLASS SLIDES AND AUSTRALIAN DAYBILLS THIS WEEK, every single one of these items started at just 99 cents with no reserve so there will be surely many real bargains and quite likely some outright "steals"! As of this writing (Sunday afternoon), over 500 of these 1,025 items are still at their starting price of 99 cents(!), around 650 are still under $3, around 800 are under $7, and around 90 are under $15! And most of the 125 or so items that are over $15 are FAR under their "regular" retail price (the ones you could find anywhere else). And there are a HUGE percentage of items that "retail" for $25 or $50 or more which are still at just a dollar or two each! Obviously, many of these items will get one or more additional bids, but given the very large number of such items I am selling, it is a virtually certainty that a fair number will "fall between the cracks" and go for low prices (and some for "joke" prices!). But YOU can't get those great deals if you aren't bidding! AND YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE! If you place a bunch of fairly low bids but only get one or two items, then you are sure to be happy, for you will have gotten some really good deals, and paid a very reasonable shipping cost (we only charge a variable U.S. shipping rate of $5.50 to $10 depending on the total of your order). Even if get nothing at all, you will only be out a little of your time, and no more (since this is one substantial auction of glass slides and Australian daybills you don't need to travel to, or even leave your computer for!).

REMEMBER THAT IN THESE AUCTIONS (as in all my online auctions), THERE ARE NO OUTRAGEOUS BUYER PREMIUMS! Other auctions charge around 20% EXTRA, for no other reason than to line their pockets with your money, and some even have a $9 minimum buyer premium, so that a $1 purchase carries a NINE HUNDRED PER CENT buyer premium!. In these auctions, what you bid is what you pay, plus a very reasonable sliding U.S. shipping chart that is based on the value of your items (almost always less than out cost to send the items to you. If you have ever bought from any other "major" auction company, you are probably still stunned by their buyer premiums and by how much "handling" fees they packed onto their shipping charges, but we never do that!

I know it can be difficult to look over this many items in just a couple of days, but remember you can use our exclusive Current Auction Image Gallery (which is located at http://www.emovieposter.com/gallery/currentauctions.php ) which has large thumbnails of all our eBay items, and links from each item to the actual eBay auction. Best of all, this gallery is searchable! You will really find this a great benefit if you want to look at all of our items this week! You can simply browse all of our current items by viewing the images in this gallery (40 to a page, but you can set it to display 20 items to a page or up to 100 items a page, depending on the speed of your Internet connection) in our number order, or you can use our search to only see thumbnails of your specific search terms! NOTE THAT EACH ITEM IN THIS GALLERY HAS A RECENT BID PRICE LISTED, AND THE PRICES ARE UPDATED AT LEAST ONCE A DAY! THIS GALLERY CAN BE SORTED BY PRICE (high to low or low to high), WHICH IS A GREAT HELP TO THOSE OF YOU WANTING TO JUST FOCUS ON THE BEST (or least expensive) ITEMS! I urge all of you to go to our gallery this week and at least glance over all the large thumbnails, EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN BIDDING ON THESE ITEMS! Why do I say this? Because it is fun to "window shop" when you are looking at this well-organized gallery, especially given all the many wonderful items we are selling this week (it is likely many of them will have images you have never seen before)!

Be sure to check out these 1,025 magic lantern glass slides and Australian daybills sometime before they end Tuesday night, June 27th, starting at around 7 PM CST (either by going to http://www.emovieposter.com/gallery/currentauctions.php or by using the link from my HOME page, http://www.emovieposter.com or by finding me by my eBay user ID, emovieposter.com). Good luck on whatever you may bid on!

I AM GOING TO MAKE A REALLY GREAT SPECIAL BONUS OFFER JUST FOR MEMBERS OF MY E-MAIL CLUB (just under 3,400 members!) WHO PURCHASE AT LEAST 15 OF THIS WEEK'S ITEMS! So if there is ANY chance at all that you might end up buying FIFTEEN items this week then you have a LOT of incentive to join the club (if you are not already a member) because I will be giving away incredible prizes to those members of the club who buy just five items, and certainly that is well within the reach of EVERYONE. If you look at the least expensive items, fifteen items will likely end up selling for $25-$50 at most, and I guarantee that between the items and the great bonus you get as a club member you will be getting a REALLY incredible deal! Why not join the club today (if you are not already a member)? You'll at most receive ONE e-mail a week, and your e-mail address is NEVER given out to anyone, and you have a great chance to win great prizes, and you can quit anytime! Just send an e-mail with "Sign me up in the club" in the subject line to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]", and you will be a member!
