I'll be happy to leave things as they are.

Subject: [MOPO] MoPo Archives & Index Command
MoPo'ers:
Earlier this month a problem was discovered with the MoPo archives at
American University. The INDEX command, which is supposed to retrieve
files
of past messages, no longer works.
AU has told me to restore this function they will have to rebuild the
list.
This will mean an outage of several hours (day/date to be determined) AND
any subscription options any of you have set up (including DIGEST, NOMAIL,
if you receive copies of your own posts, etc) will be LOST and will have
to
be resubmitted to the listserv after the outage. You can check your
current
settings by sending an e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the
command QUERY MOPO-L in the body of your message.
My question is....do we really need to have AU restore the INDEX command
and
archives or should be just leave things as they are? The Mail-Archive does
a
decent job of archiving MoPo posts. I don't believe many people ever used
the INDEX command anyway. Opinions?
