Channing,

I tried this yesterday with ten fixed-price items that were going to end within 24 hours.

I wanted to change the "List until Cancel" (where your item is automatically relisted every 30 days) to simply "List for 30 days" where when it's over, it's over, without automatic renewal.

No way to change the duration. I only ended the 10 items I was experimenting with and lost my fees. They currently sit within my "Items Not Sold" file.

It appears to me that eBay has all the angles figured out. I was just trying to change the duration of my 10 items and the only way to do it was to completely cancel/end the auction(s) and start over, thus losing the initial listing fees. If I want to relist them, well, guess what? New fees back into eBay coffers. I just paid them double.

This isn't exactly what you are suggesting, I know. But, eBay has it all figured out.

Those sellers using the "List Until Cancel" option (as I do) on their items have themselves in a corner and will not be able to change the duration unless they complete END the auctions and start over.

If anyone knows otherwise, please let me/us know.

Say HI to Tony for me.

First off -- I was wondering if any of the MOPO members have decided to
list their store items for thirty days without doing the automatic
renewal. It seems to me this might be a way to avoid some of the
increased store fees. In other words, list the item for a thirty day
period, then re-list them just before the data falls off EBAY some 60
days after the termination of the listing. Just an idea, any thoughts?
Problems with this idea?

Second -- Tony Blair of the UK is visiting San Francisco tomorrow.
Former Republican Secretary of State George Schultz lives a block from
me and he will be hosting a lunch for the Brit with his wife, socialite
Charlotte Maillard. I'm hoping to get a glimpse of the motorcade.
Security should be high!
