Everything JR said is true and logical and why I am the only one defending him is beyond my comprehension. I do not care for the inflammatory tone of this thread, but I do support the criticisms proffered by JR and Claude.
I have regularly sold foreign posters (as well as American) on eBay for over seven years. I learned very early to ALWAYS place the country of origin in the TITLE line, if the item is not American.
I learned this because:
1). I received several criticisms for not placing the country of origin in the title line.
2). I became frustrated and angered when clicking on listings of other sellers, expecting American paper, but finding foreign paper.
I learned that there is a buyer in eBayland for everything. All you have to do is describe listings accurately, grade items honestly, and offer an unconditional money back guarantee.
In my opinion, listing items in an original American category, and failing to note IN THE TITLE line, that the item is foreign, is very deceptive. And it is bad business as well. Nobody ever clicked on a RARE CHINATOWN POSTER listing, wondering if there is an alternate style 1-sheet, and was happy to find an Australian daybill. Deceptive listings only condition buyers to block or automatically delete emails from repeat offenders.
