Brek, Not kosher bringing MPB into this. For one thing, I asked Rich about this when those good auctions on linen-backing packages were offered during the MPB special event and Rich confirmed that he had had work done by them in the past and was happy with it. That's as much vetting as anyone can do -- Rich obviously has no direct control over Frank Santos or how he runs his business. I'm sure Rich will check with Frank and express his concern when he hears about this, but if Frank isn't responding to his customer's messages, he not likely to respond to Rich either. But we do know that VintageCinemart has been around for quite a while and doing good business, so this seems to be an unusual situation. The best guess is that Frank is not responding to messages because he is either 1) seriously ill and unable to communicate right now or 2 swamped with work because he did auction off all those special offers and has decided not to talk to people -- which is something that has happened! with many other linen backers in the past when they got overloaded. Not that this is acceptable behavior -- it's not. And certainly Frank should have anticipated that he was going to get flooded with posters when he took all those orders.
I agree that if Frank is deliberately not communicating that is a very bad business practice and his attempt to generate new business by auctioning the special offers will backfire on him and he will end up losing customers for future business. Let's hope the situation gets resolved quickly. But to say you won't buy on MPB again because of this is just silly. If a seller who has been performing in the past, that's all that MPB can confirm (and more than eBay does). If the seller then suddenly stops performing, you can't blame that on MPB. Have you purchased before on MPB? Did you get what you paid for then? I'm willing to bet "yes" as the percentage of problem transactions on MPB is incredibly small -- and they are almost always resolved to everyone's satisfaction. That's the most you can ask for -- and more than you'll get from eBay -- and by the way, Frank has done a lot of business on eBay as well, using the same seller ID of "VintageCinemart". Does this mean you will no ! longer buy on eBay either? Frank has also sent lists of linen backed posters for sale to the MOPO list in the past as well. Does this mean you will no longer buy from anyone else who makes an offer on MOPO? -- JR ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brek Anderson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, September 11, 2006 20:47 Subject: Re: [MOPO] Help please, VINTAGE CINEMART, have they vanished??? > Hi David, > > I have had only a couple of responses as well.
