I am just getting around to joining this great thread.
In the mid-1970s, I found a Searchers one sheet for one dollar in a stack of posters at an antique show at a local mall in Gainesville, Florida.
A year or two later, I passed on a Bill Pickett Bulldogger 30 x 40 because I had never seen one, and thought it was the wrong size. It was only $50 and was in amazing shape.
At an antique store in Florida during the late 1990s, I bought a Drums Along the Mohawk (Henry Fonda version), a Mummy's Curse insert, a Mummy's Ghost one sheet, all for less than $100 each.
I can't remember exactly where I got it, but I found a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington one sheet in the 1990s for a mere pittance.
Finally, in the mid-1970s, I was buying a lot of stuff from a hippie living in a trailer park in
Gainesville, Florida. I got some amazing stuff from him including a lot of James Bond in larger sizes. I've turned some of that stuff over to dealers around the country.
He had to twist my arm and convince me to buy a style B half sheet for Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I liked the one sheet style much better and bought two of those from him. I finally relented, because he said it was so scarce and bought the half sheet for $40. Glad I did!
