Thanks Scott.....
So I guess I am in.....we'll see what happens.
I have been urged by others....who are members....to join....but as
I have told you before....each time I try....this is my third or fourth...I get
stuck....so I give up. At 67 I am not computer savvy.
It it important to me now.....in that I am just starting now to
auction off my lifelong collection of movie memorabilia. I have been collecting
since the 1970's.
The first of my collection is up on ......bbguy.....on eBay....NOW.
More will be added each Monday. Looking at his list
now....I see that most...if not all of the movie material on his list is mine. I
think that this may continue to be so.
I have also sent 3 boxes to Bruce Hersenshon..... so far.. and will
be continuing to send more to him......as well as Ken at
...bbguy.....until my collection is sold. (PLEASE do NOT contact
them regarding my sales. I have been told that it will be months
before my items appear on Bruce's list...They will be mostly in lots.
I have 17 poster frames in my living area that I expect to
keep filled and rotating with posters for the rest of my life as I continue to
sell off my collection.
My daughter will take care of what is left after I die.
I am a retired teacher and what I have collected is not high
end. Probably the highest end items that I have are a complete set of original
lobby cards...and insert ...mint condition of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD ....my
favorite film.....though I found an original VIVA ZAPATA insert the other day
that I sent to Bruce.
My collection consists of 800 plus one sheets, 2 and a half milk
cartons of original lobby/title cards, 600 plus inserts, 400 or so half sheets,
a box and a half of press kits, also assorted Variety press supplements, a
scrapbook full of heralds, a scrapbook of autographed studio photos, 3
boxes of movie magazines..just Movie Story and Screen Stories, boxes
of large hard cover and paper backed books all on films/actors/genres of the
Golden Age, large wall and door reproductions of classic films/stars, and a
couple of boxes of hard, plastic sleeved one sheet/lobby card
reproductions, video posters and movie sheet music.
I collect mostly from the 1950's. The first theater I attended
as a child was a flat floor Army surplus Quonsut hut summer only in the
Adirondack Mts. upstate N.Y...but I have material from the late
1940's to the present.
I have separate boxed collections of JUST 1950's Universal
International product, (what I saw as a kid) as well as James Stewart, John
Wayne, Henry Fonda and Audie Murphy separate collections.
More postings are to come as I get more of my collection on line for
bidding.
I'm having a blast now going through all of my stuff and sending it
off.
Thanks for your help and
patience. Dick
