I have always just used Photoshop to interface with my scanner. I have also used the basic software that came with my Dell multi-function computer, which also seems to work pretty good. I bet you could go to Dell and download the scanner software from their support section. Both programs had adjustments for contrast and brightness, that sort of thing.
Other than that I don't know of any software that may be more automated for what you need. Anyone else have any suggestions?
