Poster above fireplace damage??Hey Ryan, Typically if you are using plexiglass or acrylic there should not be a problem. However, assuming you're talking about a nice little cozy fire, you might want to put a fire on for awhile and then feel the wall you will be hanging the frame on. Sometimes the fireboxes inside the wall aren't that good and the wall can heat up, obviously not to the point that it would cause a fire, but enough heat to make the back of the frame warm and can cause drying out of the poster and thus brittlization. I have a french 47x63 framed above my fireplace. It has hung there for 12 years and there is no problem at all. I do periodically open it up just to check. Hope this info helps.
