I want to make sure all MoPo members are aware of the 469 27" X 41" ONE-SHEETS
(and 31 cool vintage movie T-shirts!) that I have on eBay closing Tuesday night
(11/28).
What is included in this weeks items? First, there are 31 special movie
t-shirts given to a film critic at special screenings in the 1980s. Then there
are 469 unfolded (or formerly folded but stored flat one-sheet posters. The
posters include a HUGE number of the "better" titles of the 1970s and 1980s!
Titles like a trifolded Jaws one-sheet, a Jaws 2 teaser, You Only Live Twice
tri-fold teaser, The Jungle Book tri-fold, a huge number of Star Wars posters,
an unfolded Halloween, two of the best Who Framed Roger Rabbit Kilian posters,
and much, much, more!
WHY ARE WE "ONLY" SELLING 500 ITEMS THIS WEEK? Because these items end 11/28,
right after the Thanksgiving weekend and because of that, we did not have time
to prepare our usual 1,000 or so items. We also do not sell as many posters on
weeks when we sell "rolled" posters, because it take more time to package them
in our heavy-duty custom-made tubes.
REMEMBER THAT EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE LOTS OF EXCELLENT ITEMS THIS WEEK, every
single one of our items started at just 99 cents with no reserve so there will
surely be many real bargains and quite likely some outright steals! I DON'T
KNOW IF IT IS BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE WERE AWAY OVER THE WEEKEND FOR THANKSGIVING,
but as of this writing (Sunday afternoon, with just a couple of days left!),
232 of these 500 items are still at their opening bid of 99 cents (!), around
300 are still under $3, around 400 are still under $10, and around 450 are
under $20! And most of the 50 or so items that are over $30 are FAR under their
regular retail price (the ones you could find anywhere else). And there are a
HUGE percentage of items that retail for $10, $20, or $40 or more which are
still at only a dollar or two, so there are plenty of great bargains to be had!
Obviously, most of our current auction items will get one or more additional
bids, but it is a virtually certainty that a fair number will fall between the
cracks and go for low prices (and some for joke prices!). But YOU can't get
those great deals if you aren't bidding! AND YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE! If you
place a bunch of fairly low bids but only get one or two items, then you are
sure to be happy, for you will have gotten some really good deals, and paid a
very reasonable shipping cost (a variable $5.50-$10, depending on how much you
spend, no matter how many posters you get in all!). Even if you place a bunch
of bids and get nothing at all, you will only be out a little of your time, and
no more.
REMEMBER THAT IN THESE AUCTIONS (as in all my online auctions), THERE ARE NO
OUTRAGEOUS BUYER PREMIUMS! Other auctions charge around 20% EXTRA, for no other
reason than to line their pockets with your money, and some even have a $9
minimum buyer premium, so that a $1 purchase carries a NINE HUNDRED PER CENT
buyer premium! In these auctions, what you bid is what you pay, plus just
$5.50-$10 in the U.S. no matter how many you get, or the actual cost of getting
the items to you, plus $2 for packaging materials, if you live outside the U.S.
If you have ever bought from any other major auction company, you are probably
still stunned by their buyer premiums and by how much handling fees they packed
onto their shipping charges, but we never do that!
I know it can be difficult to look over this many items in just a
couple of days, but remember you can use our exclusive Current Auction Image

thumbnails, EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN BIDDING ON THESE ITEMS!
Why do I say this? Because it is fun to window shop when you are looking at
this well-organized gallery, especially given all the many wonderful items we
are selling this week (it is likely many of them will have images you have
never seen before)!
