First try the passive aggressive approach. But only if you really want the
item. But this approach positions you as a good guy while still busting him
if he tries to charge for the fees Say something like
"Thanks for getting back to me on the cost relating to shipping. The cost
is fair and reasonable and for that I thank you. As you are abroad,
obviously the fastest and simplest way to pay for an Ebay item is through
Paypal.
However let me be a friend to you for a moment. Apparently you are not
aware of a critical violation of Ebay's policy. Anyone reported charging for
fees associated with Paypal, or inflating shipping to cover Paypal fees is
subject to immediate suspension. I certainly don't mind taking the time to
make
you aware of this aggressively policed rule of sales As you know others may
not be as understanding and file a complaint without ever giving you the
chance to explain that you were sincerely unaware. If you have your policy
anywhere in your listings you will want to remove it promptly and of course
discontinue collecting the fees.
