I'm always trying something new, as those of you who have known me for the
past 30 years can attest. Google Gmail is offering a new free email service
called "gmail for your domain" or some similar name, I forget exactly what
it is called. Anyway, the long and short of it is that we can offer free
email accounts with our domain name to users of our site. So, if you think
it would be cool to tell the world that "i collect movie posters" then you
can now get a free email account with the name "[EMAIL PROTECTED]".
So, for example, let's say my dear old friend Bruce Hershenson wanted to
have the name "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" all he'd have to do is fire
off an email to me and in a few minutes I could set up his account and he'd
be in business (i'm sure Bruce will prefer to keep his
[EMAIL PROTECTED] account, but you get the idea)
Google is limiting me to 100 accounts, so after I give away the 100 names I
won't be able to do it anymore. At least, I don't think I can expand beyond
100 names. Or maybe my first 100 are free, and after that I have to pay some
annual amount per name, in which case I couldn't give away names for free
any longer.
At any rate, its a brand new thing from google and gmail. I'd like to get a
handful of users on board just to find out how it all works. If you are
interested in a new free email account like this, drop me a note to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
