MoPo-L Digest - 11 Mar 2007 to 12 Mar 2007 (#2007-71)I have to say that by
and large I haven't had a problem in the 7 years or so I've been buying on
Ebay. I have had a couple of close calls where dealers have sent lobby
cards or posters in envelopes with no other form of protection but
miraculously they survived. There are only two times I've had a problem
that really bugged me - one was from an Australian dealer (not on MOPO that
I'm aware) who was (maybe still is) selling a lot of daybills and presenting
themselves as movie paper specialists - I bought a few initially from this
dealer and they were shipped folded and then rolled left to right, so
perpendicular to the folds. This left fairly severe damage at the two fold
lines. I sought and receieved a refund but later purchased a more expensive
daybill from the same seller - told them exactly how I wanted it shipped yet
they did the same thing. This time the refund request was refused and I was
left fuming. Needless to say I have not dealt with that dealer since. The
second time occured just a week or two ago when a lobby set I received from
the US was packed loosely folded over in one of those global priority mail
boxes. The box took a hit and thankfully the damage was fairly minor but
I'm still scratching my head as to why someone would pack lobbies like that.
But I'm rambling, back to lurking...
