Folks,
When I think of stars like Betty Hutton, my first thoughts are that she
survived and became a real winner..........She went through years of
prescription drugs, alcohol, etc. and hit bottom. She sought help and
accepted it..........from there on(over many years) it up hill for her. She
lived a long life, unlike many who succumb early to what one might call the
"horrors of stardom" I did see her on the interview with Robert Osborne and
was moved my her humbleness and honesty. She is just another Hollywood
story, but for some reason, a very special one...........Vaughn

Betty Hutton seems to have been a very talented performer with a ton of
personal problems. When she fell from the heights, it was at the top
of her career having just come off of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN and THE
GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH. Talent like that goes away for a reason so it
a sad, but familiar, Hollywood story. With all the problems people
like Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears have, they have only a tiny
percentage of Betty Hutton's skill at comedy, drama, singing, dancing
and the rest! May she rest in peace!

Not entirely true Dave.. she was a Diva who complained all the time
according to those who starred with her. Howard Keel said she was the
worst he ever worked with - totally self centered and did not care
about her co stars. At least that was what Howard said at the
Hollywood Collector Show. In other words.. most likely her career was
cut short by herself. She was cut off by the studio she was with
(Paramount?) because she didn't want to do any films unless her
husband directed them.. She got her wish.. no more films

A wonderful comedienne whose career was destroyed by an unforgiving
studio system. Her performances in Miracle of Morgan's Creek and
Annie Get Your Gun still stand as testaments to her great talent...
