I am sure many of you guys have seen the 10 grand listing on Ebay for the Citizen Kane poster. I of course being Mr. nice guy tried to point out the error of their listing. I made mention that at the time of the film's roll out, a small printed version of the onesheet was made available during the initial engagements for inserting into big city newspapers, not all that different from a herald. I made mention I have seen several on Ebay, and in fact had one put on linen for a client and that they sell for $150 -$200 I also pointed out that no dimensions of the poster is posted anywhere in the listing to confirm definitely the value of this piece I got this reply: this is not a reprint. yes the reprints are in full color to help sell them. this has faded over the years. there was only 1200 made and I have one. this was shown on the antique road show several months ago with my client and they verified it is authentic. value 10K - 20K at auction sorry your limited to a very small amount of information on this item. if it does not sell we will be sending this to NY for auction I replied in a second email saying I never mentioned that this was a reprint. I also again requested the measurements of the poster to positively identify. But Antiques Road Show is the verified appraiser of this poster?
