LauraLynnC is correct - these are hoaxes, or at least no longer relevant, since the hole the Trojan exploits has been patched.

Before anyone sends out warnings, any virus, spam, chain letter or hoax can be checked out either at...

http://www.snopes.com/

...which is an Urban Legends reference page, or...

http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/

...which is a Hoax information page started by the Department of Energy for its employees and which has become the standard for reference on the Web. A quick check at either of these pages can allay a lot of fears, since well over 90% of the scares you get in your email are unfounded.

One other thing: if you do forward an email, please remove all the other email addresses that came with it, and put all the addresses you send it to in the Bcc: or Blind Copy field. Otherwise a lot of unsuspecting people's addresses are being sent all over the Web, ripe for spammers and hackers picking.

I know these messages are sent with the best intentions - to protect us all. But a couple of clicks can confirm their veracity.

Thanks...

Chris
