Hi Alan and all,
Well I just received a new Ebay scam I haven't seen before. The email is a
very official Ebay notice with graphics and all stating that you have just been
upgraded to silver status as a PowerSeller. It tells you that Ebay would never
ask for any bank information or private information. It goes on to tell you
about the benefits of being a PowerSeller and offers you to click here to find
out more information. When you click there it goes to a very official Ebay page
that asks you to log in. Well, I was already logged in and relisting some frame
auctions so that was my first clue. I try to be really careful about these
bogus emails but that was a good one and if I had gotten it in the morning and
not been logged on, I might just have fallen for it. I forwarded it to Ebay and
they said it was indeed a "phish" email. So, one more thing to watch out for.

  Subject: [MOPO] New Paypal Scam

  Mopo's -

Just got a very sophisticated new phish in the email.

It was made to look like a Paypal transaction - but the type face was
off on several elements - so that alerted me right away.

The email informed me that Paypal had just okayed a payment of 109.50
for a pair of sterling earrings.

What worked about the hole scam was that there was a nice big block to
  click titled DISPUTE CENTER.

So you get the bogus charge and boom you are supposed to jump on the
dispute center and check in, etc., of course giving them all that info
  those criminals crave.

  Never saw this one before.

Those scammers are gettin' more tricky by the day.

Isn't there some way the cops can click on that dispute box and fill in
some stuff that if the scammers use it they get tracked?

Sent info to Ebay authorities but wanted to share the warning just in
case a wave of these went out and one might land in your mailbox.
