It appears that lower fare 50s Sci-Fi/Horror poster are holding their prices
while better titles are increasing in value during the last few years. Many
titles hold their prices or more accurate, actually declining in value
considering inflation. I also believe that there is much more supply of great
items
available. 40s or earlier Universal or similar titles definitely are pushing
upwards in much greater relation than other periods or genre. Hitchcock
prices do appear to increase faster than the norm at this auction but then in
March these items did not jump up that much. It really depends who is bidding
at
any auction. For instance, I purchased the Tarantula hs style B four years
ago for around the same price than was achieved last weekend at Heritage. Mine
is rolled but in much better condition so considering inflation and current
price achieved, my poster lost in value somewhat. My poster should achieve a
higher price because it is in better condition or not? Well...different topic.
This poster does appear to be rare and I have not seen it in any other
auction in the last four or five years.
What about other genre posters?
