AOL EmailHi Dave, I would get it linenbacked and restored. Remember, a good job will also includes the deacidification and cleaning in addition to the linenbacking and restoration. I would assume that anyone buying this caliber of item would probably have one of the better linenbackers clean it up. You are correct that it would display better. While I know there are some purist collectors that prefer no linenbacking, it is still the accepted way in our hobby to restore old paper and from my experience framing these pieces, most people rely on a good linenbacker to better it's visual appearance and it's conservation quality. You probably have buyers that are currently shying away from the purchase because of the visual condition of the poster. You can always provide the before and after pictures to potential buyers.
