doug, if you sign your inquires when asking about posters as DBT, then
contact me. i have info about the poster you inquired about from the NJ
female
ebay seller. since it is an acad award movie, i suspect it is you.

i believe the response she posted is most disingenuous and incomplete. i
asked questions about the restoration months ago. she described more repairs
at that time to me, and refused to provide additional photographs. she even
refused to let me see the poster in person, even though i live nearby.

IN FACT, i wrote to her yesterday and addressed the restoration and reserve.
she did not post her responses, although she posted yours.

she sells on ebay, but posters arent her thing. she might be very nice, but
really doesn't understand how to describe posters or understand what issues
are important.

i would be very cautious. originally she listed this poster at 2000. then,
when i explained that bruce had sold a cleaner linen copy for about 300 she
reduced hers to about 500. this is about the 5th time the poster is listed,
but the first time with a reserve. all other times she started at about 400.
i followed this poster because i am hoping to find a clean copy. this
isnt clean.

she bought it from a NY dealer that i would NEVER recommend because i
personally had problems with him---he does tons of restoration. she told me
the
seller hoping to impress me, but it had the opposite effect!!!

i suspect that she got burnt with this acquisition and is now looking to
dump it.

THE ABOVE IS CONSISTENT WITH MY BELIEF THAT YOU SHOULD NEVER BUY LINEN
POSTERS ON EBAY EXCEPT FROM PEOPLE YOU KNOW THAT WILL ALLOW RETURNS OR UNLESS
THEY
PROVIDE TONS OF CLOSE-UPS & THOROUGHLY DESCRIBE THE AREAS OF RESTORATION.
