I agree with Phil regarding the content of the book and congratulation to the
authors Joel Nelson and William Gillespie for an outstanding collection of very
rare posters. However, seldom I was so disappointed (or even shocked) by the
poor image quality of the posters (and that whats important with posters as we
are all visual addicts, aren't we?). What happened to the front cover, even the
lettering is blurred. If I had seen the book in a shop, I'm not sure if I was a
buyer.

The same day, I got the book NOW PLAYING (hand-painted poster art from the
1910s through the 1950s), now thats a visual revelation, a must for every
serious movieposter collector.

You would hard pressed to find a more anti-Nazi household than ours, and I
have to say that this is one of the most fascinating books of a lost chunk of
movie poster history that I have ever seen and is a superb and lasting
reference.

The book has no political posturing, it simply presents the posters and the
history in which they were created within their historical context. The
inclusion of translations of the then Nazi ruling party doctrine on censorship
and subject matter allowed and not allowed puts the posters themselves into
perspective and pretty much damns them just as much as any government
propaganda machines did on any side in any war.

If you are really seriously interested in all aspects of movie posters
throughout all areas of film history, these guys have produced the real deal.
It really is packed with posters that you will never ever see any other way,
and maybe never again.

    Dear Collectors and Dealers,
Don't let the title or the subject matter deter you from buying our book.
We guarantee you will find the book interesting, surprising and enlightening.
Film posters from Germany in this era were quite well designed and despite
the political influences of the day they stand out as some of the greatest
poster art ever produced. We provided translations of original articles
specifically addressing poster design, display and censorship too. The quality
of the book is more like an art exhibition catalog.
Sales on Amazon, eBay and elsewhere are going well. Dealer terms are
available. Thanks
