My e-mail WAS partially prompted by Yom Kippur. I was thinking about the
traditions of that day, and then, by coincidence, I happened to hear that 1960s
song on my car radio, the one that starts out "I knew a man that I did not care
for" and follows with "One day I gave that man a call" and "Now that man is a
friend of mine". When I arrived at work I sent the "Time to bury the hatchet?"
e-mail.

It is cool you exposed yourself (that doesn't sound right, but outed yourself
doesn't sound much better), but of course I did not ask you to do so. I am not
looking for any public airing of past grievances, just to have a chance to
clear the air and "start over" with the people I had mild falling outs with
over the years.
As I suspected, I have heard from a handful of people who think this is a fine
idea, and I agree, for in each case it really was silly, and in some cases I
can't even remember what happened long ago. As to the REALLY big losers in the
hobby, I have not heard from any of them directly and that is fine with me
(although I WOULD have honored my offer to them, I would think it would have
been just a matter of time before they were again banned).
I'd say this story is over and there is nothing more to say. I am glad how well
it worked out.
