Hi, Richard from Joe B
Well, I'm not the be-all, end-all of NOLA food fanciers as I spent 30 years
working in restaurants and now go to them only rarely. (I've become allergic
to the sound of clanking cutlery!)
But we ate the po-boys & gumbo at Coop's, a local hangout on Decatur Street--
the same street where is the Cafe du Monde, which is the ONLY place to get the
authentic beignets--- except for a branch of CdM in the Metairie suburb and the
Morning Call, an ex-Quarter place that relocated to the 'burbs years ago.
Visiting with Roger, who is tireless in his generous efforts to help in the
recovery of animal care in this area, was a real pleasure! A great thanks to
him and all the wonderful volunteers who have reached into their pocketbooks
and their valuable leisure time to come to New Orleans and help with the
recovery of this great city!
Just chuck your Diet, ignore the politics and look over your shoulder for the
occasional "bad-guy" and Come on Down!
