Probably my first collision with a fake poster is from one of my all time
favorite films BLADERUNNER. It was being linenbacked by a well known studio
and I mentioned it didn't look authentic. With that I remembered I had one
in my car being shipped out. I went out, undid the packaging and put my
original against what I strongly felt was a bogus copy.

Boy I'll say. Everything from details in the credit block to the smoke
from the lit cigarette clearly indicated bogus. Linen backer wasn't
perpetrating a fraud, just linen backing for a client, but he did say he
wouldn't
want to mention this finding to this particular client.

I just acquired one folded and three rolled BLADERUNNER onesheets from a
very respected dealer that I was thrilled to add to my inventory. I wasn't
present, but at the last Court's show one of these were used to confront a
seller present who was selling fakes. Denials and words were exchanged but do
not
know much more at what went down.

My intention is to bring these out to coincide with the 5 disc ultimate DVD
BLADERUNNER collection (what! you haven't pre-ordered?) first week in
December. What kills me is I really need to get about $300 for each, but
the
confusion and doubt surrounding these onesheets have kept the numbers
depressed. Possibly Ebay will not be the proper venue but one-on-one sales to
existing clients whose confidence I have earned.

On a completely unrelated topic, RATATOUILLE just came out on DVD. This
is one of the most gloriously beautiful PIXAR animated films and you owe it to
yourself to rent or purchase if its theatrical run passed you by. I
promise, you will be absolutely blown away. Save for 3:10 TO YUMA its my
favorite
film of the year so far.
