Hi Diana,

It is known as a paper caption sticker strip that includes the still number,
the
title, studio, and a two sentence publicity blurb.

In the March 2004 issue of MCW there is a great article about still
collecting by
Freddie Poe.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,
What is the correct term for the piece of paper (with all of the publicity
information and photo description) that is affixed to the reverse of a vintage
movie still? I tend to call it a "publicity blurb" -which I know is not the
"official" name...I have heard it called a "snipe".....but "in the business",
so to speak, what is it really known as?

Thanks,
Diana
