well 1st my heartfelt sympathy to Heritage and Grey and all dealers that
have thier reputaions questioned.
I have been in this Business since 1977 and many times things come into
question..
as mopers know I had a Oscar® that created lots of hoopla andthrough
the years may diffeant event happened that brought my character and
business under scrutiny. I will say this that if the auction house and
dealers are not upfront It gets out eventually and the people nowdays
with the net can varify.. I just spoke to a man that started the large
character business and sol a C-3po for 46,000.00 and many of the props
to Planet Hollywood.. we talked on the phone and knew many of the same
people,,back in 70s and 80s the stuff was cheap.. I mean you could get
this stuff for like 300 a costome and John lebold bought stuff for 50
cents at the studios, they evem burned King KONG set or GWTW..he owns
the King kong armature anyway it gets hard to prove provenance as many
wish to stay out of lime light,
SO my disaster today.. was my 1st water flood in basement....... what I
cant believe is that I stacked paper in the basement... this tops
heritage in my eyes..... I shoud be tared and feathered
so i did put some 2 x4 under some boxes...
So what did i lose... Some moviemagazines and some paper and some BOOKs
Most books
and superb books.. Like the Hiurrell style MGM lion Roars signe by Ted
Turnerm Loys of Films of
maybe 30 books.. Ive been trying to dry page by page with a hair dryer...
I was so overwhemled at seeing 3 inchs of water i couldnt function and
threw up in the store parking lot
when i got the sump pump.. these books were titles i save years ... Good
news is most was above water so I saved them..... But ill tell you when
you get that experiance.its stressfull..
I suggest everyone not follow that what i did and get your boxes in
areas wher water wont com it
