boycotting a monopoly doesn't work......they act with impunity. ....but this is a model to how to boycott a REAL competitive business: if you want to show your consumer power to a supermarket, for example, don't say that you will never shop at the supermarket, again. rather, tell the supermarket, the following: i will NOT shop at you store for 10 days. after 10 days, mail all your receipts from the competitor supermarket showing that your went out of your way to boycott and gave your business elsewhere. the supermarket will see that hundreds of families took their business away for 10 days; the supermarket will see that $100/200 per family were spent elsewhere. that income is lost forever from the boycotted store. the store will avoid a second episode and address the concerns that initiated the boycott. UNFORTUNATELY.....how can you boycott a monopoly? the proposed boycott that is discussed at CNN merely postpones the income to ebay, it really doesn't damage them and the fees increased, nevertheless. michael
