Like a lot of the best Russian poster art it's an elegant halfway house between the literalism of the western versions and the sometimes screamingly obtuse [but fun] mittel-european stuff [the Polish poster for "After Hours" springs to mind]. The other great joy of Russian posters is that the bottom margin has a wealth of fascinating production data that doesn't quite run to listing the poster designer's blood type and social security number but comes close!
