wow these papers were where I found so many good articles... I have saved Movie collectors world ( formerly Film Collectors world) BIG REEL , Classic Images, Comic buyers guide and Toy shop along with autograph collector, Boxoffice, Variety, Billboard, American cinematogrpher, shutterbug, Hollywood studio, Premire, and dozens and dozens of Catalogs and newsletters, and poster catalogs
and auction catalogs.. strting in 60s-70s
When Krause bought all the small press papers things changed,, I would guess about 1990 was the turing point for comics and posters.. although several have survived.. before that... there was many finds of things.. there may be again as people want to get balance pay bills so tey may let go collections and the like ... Its a interesting Time of Change and I think there may be opportunitys in all this Change. People seem to want to get back to basics and ethics and many of the things that make good commerce
and what made many companys bright in the past. I feel it.
So with the shake out of the Poster Industry and collectables whole.. there may be a correction However
It seems to me there will be a balance after all the dust settles.

What concerns me are wht is happening in the Formats of retrival systems like HD versus Blue ray etc.. Its like our TVs will be obselete by 2009 ... At the same time they can sell more TVs thne and as for Video DVD .. I see the complete archives beinng dowloadable soon and may spell a end for video store rental.. If people can burn the downloads.. and have them instantly why would they pay to rent? as for the public display I think that may stay awhile as its a cultural experiance to see a film in a group and the ambiance of the mega screen and audio experiance still cannot be don in a small room
Home theatres though are kicking butt if you have 15-30 k and UP to spend.
All this aside... we are in for Change in a big way soon as I see it.. I think it will be Good.

Alas, another publication bites the dust - Toy Shop
Magazine is no more.

Not sure if it's dwindling subscriber base or postal
increases or a combination of both compounded with The
Internet.
