this is interesting
I hear everyone talking about ebay changing searches etc.. I have
about 150 diff searches saved that I look over regularly and I
haven't found any issues with them at all. Of course regularly means
different things for each search.. some are every day, more than
once.. others are weekly or monthly depending on if I'm looking for
"that" stuff.. I haven't noticed any problems with any of it

Sue,
I have certain posters I'm always looking for on ebay (yes,
Cavalcade and Cimarron are on that list) so I have search strings
built and bookmarked which reference key words to include and
exclude, as well as decade. I've got about 20 searches (because I
also collect Noir and other genres or titles).
It all goes well until ebay decides to change categories or search
result displays (like they did recently) and cause about half of the
searches to no longer be valid. It frustrates me badly when it
happens, but I usually rebuild them and keep on going.

This is a great question Dave. I have often wondered the same thing.
I'm like Doug and usually search by film title with the word poster
attached somewhere or I wind up with every video dealer in the world
on the list.
I am even more curious about searches on Ebay. Do you all think that
normally you just scroll categories of posters (ex: 1940-1949 poster
category) to see if something of interest is available or if you are
looking for something specific you go to advance search? I'm just curious.

David,
I usually search using the name of the film, but I use the image
search instead of the text search. It doesn't always work, but
sometimes it will retrieve dealers who have an image posted on their site.
Otherwise, it's film title + poster or one sheet.
Not much help perhaps, but there it is.

assuming that you all sometimes buy posters OFF of ebay...
[]
what keywords do you type into google if you are searching for movie posters?
do you type in:
movie posters
or
old movie posters
or
vintage movie posters
or
original movie posters
or
film posters
or some other combination of words?
