my frustration when reading these kinds of posts is that beautiful posters
should not be stored:? they should be displayed.

that is why i have been buying less one sheets and more half sheets and inserts
because i can scatter them around my "poster-media" room (in the plastic with
cardboard backing).........??

i have run out of wall space---have about 67 framed, and i have recently
exceeded?that number?in non-framed!!!?? pity is that none of my collection is
cheap items..........?? and i refuse to place them anywhere else in my house,
except the hallway into my media area.

Subject: Re: [MOPO] Storing Linenbacked Posters

Hey Louie,

? I actually keep all my linenbacked posters in a flat file. However, they are
very expensive when purchased new. So, I called around to some used office
furniture stores and found some used ones ranging in price from $150-$250 which
is a far cry from over $2000 new. The flat files come in various sizes and I
have three of them, probably from different manufacturers, that are slightly
different in size but around 33x46 and usually 5 drawers. What I did was lay 4
2x4 pieces of wood on the ground as a base and then set the drawers on top of
that and then they stack on top of one another is you have more than one. Of
course, you have to have room to sit one of these big flat files. I have had
customers who have a flat table, stack their linenbacked posters on top of it
between some acid free foamcore and that will work also.? One little tip,
however you stack them, make sure the top poster is face in to the poster below
it. That way, if you have it in a flat file drawer, nothing
accidentally scrapes across the front of a poster. That's the scoop. Good
luck.

Subject: [MOPO] Need help with storage

Like I posted yesterday for help with my window cards, I am new to the
world of poster collecting so I ask for any help you can give me.? I am
looking for info on the best way to store linen backed 1 sheets.? I have 3
right now (I know, not much of a collection) and I bought some poly holders
from Bags Unlimited that are 29" X 43" but with the linen backing they
don't fit.? I know that they should be stored flat and not rolled, so I was
wondering what is the best way to store linen backed posters that will not
be framed.? Thanks for your help.

Louie
