interesting,, I have a theory that films can effect us overall after
years of watching peoples reactions..
Its like video games.. I would find my adrenilin surge when I would do
shootem up like lethal enforcer
back in early 90s.. Now there are games like halo.. that when my son
plays it I see a increas in Hyperness.
It makes perfect sense the audio and visual is created for shock value
.. Like aold spook shows..
It quite interesting and most of the bits are magic illusion based
diversions,,, Hitchcock used our
own imaginations to spook us like the bathroom scene in Phyco..
yets some are just blatent violence and are orgys of blood lust. Well
hey the Romans loved this stuff years ago in the collisium so.. not much
has changed really.... Its just CGI now.
As for depressing... well there are many stories that just drop lower
and lower,,, however ther some that
enlighten the spirit,,, for me Cinema Paradiso was just right on the
mony of Human spirit..
Capras stuff like meet John Doe and its awonderful Life,,, showed
struggle and redemption..
And then those magic carpet films like Jurrassic Park and Star wars and
Back to the future
and raiders took us on adventures of like fantasy and perfect popcorn
films..
the epics were like Opera...with assive sets and cinematography that
was just so cool.. those films were major engineering feats alone.
Anyways I look forward to seeing some well crafted films ythis year and
Hope Raiders is good.
My son is in san Diego tonight seeing the new George Romero film.. I
guess its opening in California..

tear-jerkers are fine. sad movies are fine. but the 2 mentioned
above just get to me.
A PLACE IN THE SUN..... wow that last scene is toooooo real. but i
watch it.
