This past year, during In the Valley of Elah watching Susan Sarandon in the 
scene were she views her son's body, was for me almost palpably painful.  This 
scene was so amazingly well directed.  It really was a shame that she didn't 
receive a supporting actress nomination.  Her work was definitely stronger than 
Ms. Dee's and the film truly deserved some nod from the Academy.
