sorry it took me so long to get back to it
I understand your feelings about the bidding structure that Bruce is
going to be using because you feel it might allow some things that
you were hoping to get a bargain on to sell to someone else for more
money and how much everyone likes to get a bargain
I've gotten plenty of bargains in Bruce auctions, and I'm sure I will
continue to do so.
I also give away lots of bargains myself on MoviePosterBid in my
weekly auctions as you well know, having been the lucky winner on
some great items on the cheap.
However, even though I think it's great when I get to save money &
love a bargain as much as the next guy....
when I have gotten bargains in Bruce's auctions (or anywhere else),
it isn't because I was looking for a bargain..
It was because I was lucky enough to wind up with a bargain
for instance I won 3 Orphee posters from Bruce & saved over $1000
from what I was willing to bid, and what I got the posters for
meaning: I bid $426.00 on one poster & I got it for $138.
Does the fact that I saved $289 on that poster make me feel good?
it would be foolish to deny it.
however...
would I have been just as happy about getting the poster if I had to
pay $426 when I won it?
ABSOLUTIVELY
Saving that $289, while cool, does not change about how I feel about
getting the item. But if I had lost out on the poster because I was
trying to get a bargain and had only bid $135.. then I would feel
miserable about my miserliness
again, I didn't get a bargain because I was trying to. I got a
bargain because every other bidder was trying to get a bargain and I
was willing to pay whatever
and that my friends, is what it's all about anyway.. He who wants to
pay the price wins
