For those of you who are not familiar with MPC, it stands for the
Movie Poster Channel, a non-existent cable channel founded by Greg
Douglass.
I threw that sci-fi list together just to see if anyone agreed with
it. Apparently not...LOL.
In my defense, I did not get paid to compile that list. MPC has NEVER
paid me a salary, and I'm getting a little tired of working there for
free. If Greg had actually paid me something, I might have come up
with a better list.

like any list... it's all subjective to the people polled to

Forbidden Planet didn't make the top 10? That's surprising. I
certainly agree with 2001 being #1, though.

Did any of you cable subscribers watch "MPC Salutes the Greatest
Science Fiction Films of All Time"? I didn't think much of the
list they came up with. They managed to ignore the entire Star
Trek franchise. Very rude. And why did they pick that Tom Martin
guy to host the program? He was like Robin Williams on speed.
Next time, I hope they pick someone more like Alistair Cooke.
For those who missed it, here are the winners:
1) 2001: A Space Odyssey
2) Solaris (1972)
3) Blade Runner (1982)
4) Metropolis
5) Star Wars (1977)
6) Silent Running
7) Fahrenheit 451
8) Fantastic Planet
9) Colossus: The Forbin Project
10) War of the Worlds (1953)
