It's far more about the graphics for me now.
Ideal if both criteria are fulfilled.
But few tick both boxes very well, Vertigo good example of one that does, both a great film and poster, whichever format of the US. But I still want to find something for films I love, even when finding a the right paper isn't easy. Wild Bunch was tricky, (went with door panels). Rebecca is tricky, (think it's the Fontaine, Anderson LC for that). A Matter of Life and Death, is very tricky.
In a Lonely Place, again tricky, ended up with Argentinean poster.
Maltese Falcon WC, I had, and enjoyed for over 10 years before selling. I'd rather have one of the French. Bought a Polish poster recently, never seen or heard of the film, but gorgeous design. (It does work as it was intended to though, even this late in the day it's still encouraging me to try to watch it.) Chelsea Girls, amazing poster design, at some point I'll grit my teeth and watch the film, but know it won't get near to the paper, and it doesn't matter. But a film I actively hated, poster for a Stallone or Van Damme say, it could have the most amazing design, still wouldn't have those meatheads mugs on the wall. Don't think I've answered properly, it's mostly varying degrees of both qualities, don't know the percentages.

Cheers,
Rich
