I have now had 4 emails from F***Bay telling me that my credit card had been used and that I should check into it.

It hadn't been used, and even after a "live chat" with a F***Bay person who actually agreed that my account showed no such use, and that the emails were very poorly worded and that she too would have immediately cancelled that card on file as the CC company also recommended based on the wording of the email "warning"... I then rec'd another 3, all saying the same thing - that there had been use on my CC card - a card # which no longer actually existed.

Something very, very weird is going on behind the scenes there - and I keep thinking about that big empty room and the countless special deals, discount offers, et al that keep dropping through my messages in an attempt to get me to spend more money there.

I am somewhat proudly now about to lose Aluminium Powerseller Status, and of course the wording of the warning is that old chestnut based around the "letting yourself down" that the old pyramid selling schemes used to use so effectively for their simple-minded sellers.

The irony, of course, is that the less I sell on F***Bay, the more business I do through my own website and private sales. Despite discretionary spending being down, our sales have grown steadily via the website and private sales since not running auction format listings and just using the Store. The fact that our Store Icon actually disappeared from our page for several days hardly seemed worth reporting here or even to The Powers That Be. It's back, but for how long? One can only wonder how such things can happen, except that the site is like a dog's breakfast drawn from a multitude of servers it seems. There are now more bells and whistles than train they adorn.

June 30 sees PP take on the Australian Government's ACCC for their appeal for a payment monopoly on F***Bay Australia, but I already know several sellers and buyers who have opted out of F***Bay Australia simply because of the sheer arrogance of the company press release, and the gobbledegook of the message sent to Australian sellers.

How ironic that PP wants people to use DD from bank accounts and not CCs. PP was built on its coupling with CC companies to start with. Could it be that the CC companies are seeing some writing on the wall with PP and its Mothership?

They called me the other day and wanted to talk me into using my bank account. I told them
I WANTED to use my credit card and not to call me again about it.

I usually like to pay for items with my American Express card through
PAYPAL. Today, I was trying to pay for an EBAY item and they cleverly
moved the MORE FUNDING OPTIONS button once again causing me to
accidentally pay through my checking account. This is the kind of
sleazy stuff that is done by disreputable outfits, not by major
companies. EBAY/PAYPAL is getting sleazier! I may consider filing a
complaint with AMEX about what Paypal is doing on the site.
