Claude, You may not like this strategy but since this seller uses it
repeatedly, it must work for him. It plays on the concept that Ebay
constantly attracks new buyers who have not seen the merchandise
previously. He's also playing the averages, i.e. he may sell 25% of his
stock the first time around at his original asking price, thus making a
considerable profit on these items so he's willing to settle for less
next time around on the unsold items. He might also only post during
Ebay sale days so as to cut down on the posting fees. There's clearly no
one way to market and sell on Ebay, as annoying as you may find it to
pick through this seller's laundry list of items for sale. FRANC

Subject: Re: [MOPO] FS~ REDUCED AND READY...I never understand such
strategy

To all Mopo members-----------

How often we see items for sale on ebay at high prices and we just
ignore them. I find it rare that a person who lists items high actually
obtains a sale. Then we are besieged with "Reduced and Ready", Reduced
for quick sale", etc.

My immediate reaction is to ignore these listings because most likely
they will be reduced again and again.

I cannot understand the seller's thinking at all. If you are willing to
accept the reduced price, why not start it there and let the auction
play out? These items just appear over and over again and the posters
end up on the dead pile as their listings have become so redundant that
people ignore them.

What is your opinion?
