Vaughn is totall y correct
another community is Norwood Ohio (Cincinnati) which was gutted for a
shopping mall
my ex-wife's home is just outside the area they wanted .. and I hear
the mall isn't doing to well which - if you knoew the area - wouldn't
be a surprise
the New London BS was all the worse because they didn't want the land
for true commercial development, they wanted to give the land to a
developer who was going to build luxury homes. I think the same
happened with the Wisconsin Dells. these were the deals that made
congress stand up & take notice and partially re-write the laws of
eminent domain

"Immanent Domain" being used to replace various structures or

that the "betterment" of the community should receive strong

London, CT was the precedent! The homeowners lost for all practical
purposes; they did sue and receive some financial consideration
above what was originally offered; however,..............they were
moved out!..............I' m sure this could happen in LA...............Vaughn

the city of LA (nor any city) cannot just randomly go in and close
down places of business without a reason, whether they be "mom n
pop" stores or other... we may be a lot of things here but we are
not the former USSR....lol

Sabin probably closed the store because the City of LA decided to
close all the mom and pop stores on Hollywood & Vine to make room

I noticed the Sabin Gray's Backlot Books down the street seems to
have closed as well.
I stopped by today and it looked as though they were in the
process of cleaning it out. I know there was a fire on the block
not long ago. I don't know if the two were related.
