London was always an expensive city. I used to go back and forth on
business to London every month or so (which is a nice way of saying that
I was on an expense report) and the hotels and dining were extremely
expensive even when the dollar was strong. I can't imagine what's it's
like now having to pay for everything with the George Bush dollar! I
always found that buying posters in London (unless it was something you
could not find anywhere else in the world) was an extremely costly
proposition: you paid in British pounds sterling the same amount that
you would have paid in dollars in the States. FRANC

i just arrived in london...prices are crazy....staying in a type of
courtyard by marriott type of hotel and I am paying total 400 pounds for
two nights...and small as a shoe box...first I took the train from
`Heathrow for 18 pounds...then a taxi for 16 pounds (for a few minutes
ride)....checked out the room service prices and we just dont realize
that the US Dollar is worth 50% or less over in Europe...and the Euro is
actually much higher than compared to the UK pound....there must be a
lot of EU buyers for posters in the US...making it a real bargain...I
heard something that some gallery closed in London...maybe it was
Adrians....staying in NYC is a bargain compared to london...a real
bargain...well....

This shop has now closed I believe. Concur with the sentiment about
pricing - I have lived in London all my life yet have never bought a
poster from a shop here. Mind you, London is one of the most expensive
cities in the world so the overheads of running a gallery must be
tremendous.

Sometimes they'd have the odd movie poster. Buying posters in London is
an expensive proposition, especially with the current exchange rate.

presently. the poster i purchased was insert of LADY IN THE LAKE. 6
months ago i got insert of AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER. contact him for
address/info. although i got 2 great inserts, i think he does more with
other memorabilia items.
