London was always an expensive city. I used to go back and forth on business to London every month or so (which is a nice way of saying that I was on an expense report) and the hotels and dining were extremely expensive even when the dollar was strong. I can't imagine what's it's like now having to pay for everything with the George Bush dollar! I always found that buying posters in London (unless it was something you could not find anywhere else in the world) was an extremely costly proposition: you paid in British pounds sterling the same amount that you would have paid in dollars in the States.
