a) removable acid free tape is a repair that must be disclosed.
(restoration through backing would have or might have hidden the defect
totally
depending upon damage and the ability of restorer.)

b) scotch tape or any brown tape on a poster must be disclosed. .....and
where the hell did they get that brown ugly tape 20 years ago?

c) tape residue is a damage.... i purchased from you, bruce, ROPE insert 2
years ago (LINK from bruce site:
_http://www.emovieposter.com/imagearchive/poster/61933.html_
(http://www.emovieposter.com/imagearchive/poster/61933.html)
) which has 3 residue, yellow tape stains. these areas i saw before
bidding, and do not consider them offensive. this poster is one of my
favorites,
and I framed it "as is". i know that many might have "airbrused" them into
oblivion. not me. it is fine. (btw, 6 months ago i picked up the half sheet
of this rarer title on ebay---love this film!!!)

bruce------on your other posting this morning about edgar bergen, you wrote:

"As to the poster's condition, it was really not too bad, and could be
easily corrected through linenbacking (although as we have all learned, that
is
to be avoided at all costs!)."

wow!!!!! what a bold pronouncement (considering MOPO's milieu in the last 2
days) to which, obviously, i agree totally. i will defend you if you are
attacked on MOPO for this !!!!!
