I might use fixed price on consumer items or cheap collectibles that we
happen to have in large quantities - stocking stuffer kind of things, but
it's a low priority for me. Otherwise, the fixed price format has little
interest for me as far as my posters and other collectibles go. I would see
its use mainly as advertisement of marginal value, since I still maintain an
eBay store with 1300 items.

I've had good luck with an End of Summer sale - only 2 days left - in which
I've priced everything in my eBay store down by 10%, and have invited best
offers on all items as well. I'm more generous with people who purchase
multiple pieces, of course, or when they make offers on something out of my
own collection rather than from consigned items. I'm thinking that I might
leave everything or a lot of things at Submit Best Offer through the end of
the year, even after the prices go back up, but haven't yet decided.

BTW - anyone on MOPO who wants to take advantage can receive equivalent or
better deals on any item from my off-eBay store (where I have near 4000
items). Everything in the eBay store is also at ckmac.com. You can get an
automatic 10% discount using the code SUMMER08, and if you want to make an
offer on multiple items, you can either e-mail me directly or take a (fully
revisable) order through to confirmation, picking the request-a-discount
option on shipping and payment pages.

Subject: [MOPO] EBAY Sales -- How are they Going?

This is mainly addressed to sellers on EBAY in this group. I was
wondering about people's reactions to the new 30 day Fixed Price
Listings and resultant sales. Anybody have any thoughts on this?
PLease chime in.

Thanks, Channing Thomson
