better yet....
just walk in to your local post office and ask.... show them what you
want to mail. you are talking ONE POSTER here... it certainly isnt
going to cost an arm and a leg, even if sent first class.

don't be lazy---------- go the USPS.COM & you will see that a
poster is NOT media mail.
when the postal inspector opens your package, you won't be able to
defend using that class of service by saying, "Some guy on MOPO
said it was okay."

Richard,
I should probably give you the full statement from the USPS website:
Media MailĀ® service is a cost efficient way to mail books, sound
recordings, recorded video tapes, printed music, and recorded
computer-readable media (such as CDs, DVDs, and diskettes). Media
Mail can not contain advertising except for incidental
announcements of books. The maximum weight for Media Mail is 70 lbs.
I think they might complain if you tried to send any sort of poster
by media mail.

Roger,
Thanks for the info.&n bsp; Your media mail quote below actually
makes me believe that what I am shipping can be sent media. I
think I might have not mentioned or mistated.... the rolled
poster I am shipping is not a movie poster and is a promo poster
put out by Warren Publications in the 1970s with an image of Dr
Creepy. It just shows the character made famous in their Creepy
magazine and the only text is the copyright line in the bottom of
the poster.
My thanks to all of you for your notes on this and your 'always
welcome' advice.

Top secret information revealed...
One could make a weak argument that the following posters can be
shipped via media mail:
http://www.learnaboutmovieposters.com/posters/db/poster.asp?pid=26848
http://www.learnaboutmovieposters.com/posters/db/poster.asp?pid=6670
http://www.moviegoods.com/movie_poster/

USPS website says "Media Mail can not contain advertising except
for incidental announcements of books."
