The key to utilizing production codes is knowing what studio released the still. When you don't know what studio, then it takes more research. We have both a numeric and an alphabetical index in the book to help locate what studios we have documented so far. I looked up what we have for you. Not being able to see the still, they way that you posted it, I'm not sure if the FN is the code; or the 22 or the combination. So I am just using the code that you posted. First the FN: We have only documented 2 studios utilizing just the FN. That is RKO and WB. The FN code for RKO is for the 1937 film - 40 Naughty Girls The FN code for WB is on a couple as a prefix for some of the First National productions. Under the code 22.. We have documented 4 studios so far.. 20th Century Fox - it's for the 1960 title Lost World MGM - is for the 1918 Goldwyn production of Venus Model Paramount - is for the 1914 film Port of Missing Men Republic - is for the 1941 film Gay Vagabond Out of these, the mostly likely might be Lost World. which sounds questionable. but if this is a WB film, then it is probably one of the First National releases. Unfortunately, we don't have any of the First National codes.. They would probably been an FN then a number code for the film. Our book has 20,000 production codes which sounds like a lot, but there is a tremendous amount that has not been documented yet. We have compiled another 800-1000 codes that are not online yet. We're hoping to this will spearhead the research and documentation into all the other studios production codes. I hope this helps.. I am ordering Sue and Ed's production code book, but until I get the book I'm hoping someone could tell me what movie one still I can't identify is from. It is # FN (22)-10 that is a photo of a monster holding a head. Fyi the other stills are Invasion of the Saucer Men (same image as the title card), It Came From Beneath the Sea, and the other is Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. I enjoy selling at shows, but can't get much interest in Salt Lake for posters at the antique shows I do here. Since I have the better posters in sleeves or in Sue's frames and have hundreds of autographs, stills, and lobby cards it is tough to get them to a show as far away from me as Cinevent.
