Irving,
The best dates for launching are concerns specific to traditional auction
formats. Have you tried fixed pricing? Personally I don't have a lengthy
experience in doing so but I am drinking the Ebay Kool-Aid (bitter,
followed
by a skanky after taste no doubt brewed and steeped in old sneakers of Amazon
envious execs) and buying into their "research" that people have tired of
the auction format and want to cruise and buy spontaneously and pay no
shipping.

Pros----- to early to tell but one is certainly listing times (therefore
ending times) are moot. If its a fixed price what the hell difference when
you
launch. Other than that, My 4 week experiment thus far is simply not enough
time to make declarations.

Cons------
Have I realized an items full potential? Have I left money on the table?
Has my nightmare business model of "buy high sell low" reared its ugly head?

Are auctions still the preference of collectors? I mean you can you really
compare the psychology of purchasing a near mint herald of Bride Of
Frankenstein (read: shameless plug for item I have currently listed) to that
of say
replacement foils for wet-dry shavers, or battery operated pinking shears?

Does denying a sale the intrigue of building interest for an item over a
week's time by starting at $9 and watching it build with 10 to 15 bids
capping
at where ever it lands actually the better route instead of listing the
collectible to sell for X price "and its yours?"

Please:
intelligent comments? informed insights? knowing bullshit?

freeman fisher

Can seasoned Ebay sellers tell us whether Sunday night is the best time to
start a 7 day auction? If not, what other days and why?
Also, the following upcoming weeks are holidays so should is it better not
to post auctions that week or is it OK to post auctions but not high profile
items that won’t get low bids because less people eyeballing Ebay that week?
Sunday, 23 November (Thanksgiving is 27-30)
&
Sunday, 21 December (with X-Mas being the 24th)
&
Sunday, 28 December (with 1 Jan New Years holiday)
Thanks a lot for your expert opinions!
