Its nearly impossible to pick out one from the many songs from stage to
screen adaptations, but chances are you heard them before prior to seeing the
film from cast albums or the radio as was the case for 99% of my experience
with movie musical music. But one stage musical I would have been too young
to
see when it premiered and that never come to Texas was HAIR. No friend or
family member I knew ever had anything from this production except hearing
"AGE OF AQUARIOUS on the radio and the perception of it was quite low. But
when
the truly great Milos Foreman screen adaptation came out, what 20 years
after the Broadway debut (and bombed having lost its sense of urgency only now
to
come roaring back) I sat in a nearly empty theatre on opening weekend and
was blown away AND STILL am blown away when I pop in the DVD especially:

Cheryl Barnes's torch solo "Easy To Be Hard-" I have no idea if this song
can be found on-line so for those who Netflix queue it up immediately. But
I promise you it will send chills down the most stiff of spines.

And lets not forget the reaction we all felt the first time we heard Tim
Curry in THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW belt out SWEET TRANSVESTITE. LoveD
or
hateD you never forgot it.

Bob D. your choices of songs in dramas well realized, especially Lose
Yourself but I would also have to add just about every song in TRAINSPOTTING.
