Yeah, Jeff, I agree. Kirby is "half-facetiously" yanking everyone's chain with his ultra-minute categories. I say "half" because one half of his brain is chasing pure amusement -- while the other half genuinely believes the logic/wisdom and work that went behind his nutty selections. And oh, about that King Tut exhibit. I can't help it. It sucked. I saw it in L.A. with thousands of others -- and was suckered like everyone else by slick marketing. We thought were going to see the gold head-dress, huge artifacts, the whole nine yards. After all the planning and long lines, we were instead greeted with jewelry, "remnants," a few "re-constructions" -- and oh, a lot of video featurettes with info found in any number of documentaries. A pale imitation of the magnificent tour that blew through here during the 1970s. Save your money. Not recommended. -d. -----Original Message----- Date: Sun, 15 Feb 2009 21:15:17 -0800From: [email protected]: Re: What song do you think was the greatest to ever appear in a movie musical? To: [email protected] about a little insanity here.... :)
best song as a song...versus what??? best song as a duck? a car? a plane? a book? lol...all songs ARE songs by their nature.... this category alone has to take the cake.....LOL On Feb 15, 2009, at 8:59 PM, McDaniel Kirby wrote: BEST SONG AS A SONG Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at www.filmfan.com ___________________________________________________________________ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: [email protected] In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.
